The February meeting of ASJA’s Pacific Northwest chapter brought together writers from Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
In chapter news:
- Carolyn Miller, president, and Randy Stapilus, webmaster, updated members on development of the new ASJA Pacific Northwest website.
- Members pursuing work in the creative nonfiction genre have formed a subgroup to exchange manuscripts, provide feedback, and share market opportunities. Founding members Catherine Kolonko, Carolyn Miller, Darlene West, and Minda Zetlin meet monthly on Zoom.
Meeting participants also compared notes on:
- Best ways to contact editors when pitching ideas or following up on long-term projects, now that options include not only phone and email but text, Twitter, Facebook and others.
- Possible angles and potential markets for several Covid-related stories.
